Requirement
A power generation plant uses a baghouse
filtration design as part of its pollution control
system. Normal operation calls for routinely
closing o chambers in the filtration system,
using pneumatic cylinders. They needed
an assembly that could integrate all the
required pneumatic components in a single
unit for full, unrestricted functionality. This
required durable cylinders that could provide
repeatable, immediate response and a design
that could be adapted for various applications.
Solution
IMI Precision Engineering met this challenge
using IMI Norgren A and J Series NFPA
cylinders with externally mounted valves, air
filtration components and electrical junction
boxes. This provides faster response time and
reduced air consumption. The space-saving
design and reduced number of control wires
make it simple to install and easy to adapt
to other applications. The baghouse cylinder
uses a mechanical lockout feature to isolate
particular chambers in the filtration system for
maintenance.
