Requirement An OEM making laboratory equipment to test water quality was experiencing an unacceptable level of leaks from the valves that controlled samples and reagent channels. They needed to improve instrument performance by eliminating leaks while at the same time reducing the total cost of ownership. Solution IMI Precision Engineering integrated quality IMI FAS Microsol® isolation valves with a customer-specific manifold designed to fit into the existing instrument footprint. Tests showed that using the Microsol valves and proper sealing materials eliminated leaks. The valves also last 50% longer and use less energy, reducing overall costs for end users.
