Performing a tool change between jobs on the Gull Wing Press was never an easy task for employees at this customer's Stamping Plant. The press, which had two rails that required tool changes, was an older machine using an antiquated tool change method. In order to perform a tool change on the press, multiple employees would need to work together and stand on an elevated platform. The employees would then need to lift the tooling, stretching above their heads, and struggle to change the heavy equipment. The process took a long time with multiple attempts, was not ergonomic or safe, and they needed change. When seeing the press room team members struggle to perform the tool change, it was a no-brainer that the Norgren Easy Load tool changer would be a perfect fit.
