Redundant systems are required to increase uptime by ensuring the process
continues to run in the event of a valve failure; or to increase safety by
ensuring the process can be shut down in the event of a failure - or both.

bolted together on a back plate, or tie-rodded together
» The complete systems are not SIL certified
